Personal TrainingWhat Can I Expect From A Personal Training Session?

I travel to my clients' homes in the Des Moines area with an assortment of fitness equipment, and we work together to design an effective workout designed to meet your needs and goals. If you have fitness equipment that you haven't used in awhile, or would like to become more familiar with using, we will work with that too.

One-on-one or small group-based training sessions are available. Each session is an individually tailored, comprehensive approach, incorporating cardio, strength training, stretching and relaxation. To provide a variety of training options, I also offer training out of my home-based fitness center, or we can take our workout outdoors.

Each client will undergo periodic fitness assessments throughout our work together to assess body composition, cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness, flexibility, and progress.

What is the Difference Between Coaching and Personal Training Sessions?

Coaching sessions are driven by the co-creative relationship. The client comes to each session with a stated agenda, and through an exchange of information with the coach, is guided by the coach to come up with her own strategies and actions to overcome challenges standing in the way of being her best. Behavior change takes time and effort. Through coaching, you will build on the skills that you already have within you to achieve your goals and make lasting change.

Personal training sessions are also based upon communication between the coach and client. However, instead of the client developing an action plan, I develop and structure the exercise program based upon the client's needs and goals. I take into account my client's individual situation and devise a step-by-step plan addressing priority areas to help achieve lasting success.
